You are the magic in your marketing, the reason everything works. If you’ve been focusing outside of yourself to create that magical connection, you’ve looked beyond the mark! On today’s episode I’m breaking down the next step in authentically automating your marketing!
One of the fears people have when they think of automation, is that it’ll seem cold and disconnected. That’s because without infusing humanity into your efforts, it will be cold and disconnected. We’ve all been in the funnels that seem like they could have been written by a robot. Predictable, and even at times manipulative. Fake deadlines and scarcity that leave us feeling less like we are being helped and more like we’re being duped. The simplest way to avoid this? Just don’t do it. Don’t make the goal to sell, make the goal to serve.
Sometimes the excitement over getting our automation set up can lead us to work too fast. Speeding through writing emails that will live for months or even years in your automation can have adverse effects. Instead of rushing through, take the time to outline how you would have these conversations naturally over time with a real person. The reality is you are having these conversations with real people. And whether they read them now or in several months, you want the flow to make sense.
You cannot forsake your magic in the attempts to sound smarter or be more convincing. It’s your stories and background that will build trust and connection. As you are looking at the automation your are building, look for places where your unique way of connecting can fit in. Should you send them to a video at some point? What stories of success or failure can you include?
While it is important to bring your stories into the mix, make sure you remember that marketing is about selling the solution to a problem. You are meant to connect your offers with the right people who need them. Use those needs and an understanding of who you are talking to, to create more authentic content. When you write emails, imagine ONE person you are writing to. I know it can be tempting to solve all the worlds’ problems, but if you gear your communication to one person, it will connect to everyone that much more.
On episode two of the series I encouraged you to reconnect with your intention. When you do this you bring your vision back to the business. The magic that is you comes in full force. Come back to YOUR why and connect it with your marketing. Tell your audience and list about your vision. This will create trust and authenticity. Avoid the temptation to hide your own goals for fear that people will feel “sold to”. You are selling, but you don’t have to be ashamed of that! Show the bigger reason why you are providing this offer, and watch the magic happen!
